hi I would like to know about the use of CFD in Reciprocating air compressors. Can i get any reference material? Is there anybody who can help me. thanks n regards vishal trivedi

CFD can be used in reducing the noise, in reducing the valve losses, lossees in mufflers, in predicting temperature distruibution. there are many problems in which CFD can be used in modifying the design of a reciprocating compressor. howerver u cannot get any reference materail (in text books) on this application. u have to refer Purdue university conference papers on compressors manufacturing.

Can CFD be used to solve some reciprocating mechanism problems that we do in real life ?????
