particle tracking time step
im working on the field of particle tracking in a continuous phase. the relaxation time of the particle is too short and the domain is long relatively. so the computational time is so large for each particle.
i guess the FLUENT DPM uses a changing time step in the integration of the particle equations. in that scheme the integration time step is increased if the relative velocity of the particle and the flow is small enough.
i wanted to know if is there any suitable criterion to handle this scheme?

How much is Delta t for particle tracking in a code? Is time step equal to relaxation time?
