turbulence generator @ Inlet for LES
Hello
I have mean velocity and turbulent kinetic energy profiles from experimental data. I want to use this as an input to my FORTRAN LES code. Can you please suggest(hints/literature) what are the simple methods to generate a fluctuating field at inlet using the data above? I have tried random fluctuations based on random number generator but they do not seem satisfactory. Best regards SM |
hi
hello every one.
i want to model a isotropic turbulent flow with openfoam. my case is a turbulence generator in a wind tunnel. i just know the velocity of air at entrance of the tunnel i want to model it with simplefoam. what boundary condition must i choose for P and U and ....? please help me |
Hi Canopus,
Did you find any solution to your problem? I'm facing the same issue for a DNS simulation. Thanks in advance, Andrea |
It's been a while since the last time I went trough LES/DNS literature, but the following are good starting points:
http://www.sciencedirect.com/science...45793009001601 http://www.annualreviews.org/doi/abs...rnalCode=fluid http://www.sciencedirect.com/science...21999112006389 Edit: the last link points to the method that, in my opinion, is the most simple, and yet powerful, to use. Even if i didn't implement it myself, the unique issue I can see for the implementation is to have a coherent (i.e., shared) pool of random numbers among the different processors fixing the inlet. |
Thanks a lot Paolo!
I will have a look to the articles and try to find a solution suitable for a Fortran90 implementation. Regards, Andrea |
