Artificail Vistocity/ Numerical Dissipation

Hi, Can Any one provide any information related to the Jameson's dessipation form.

I am coding MacCormack Scheme and I need to add an artificial viscosity to stabilise the solution of a 1D shock wave inside a Con-Di Nozzle.

any Advice or references will be helpful

Thanks.

M.

Hi Meriem I am close to you problem now. I use MacCormack Scheme with TVD-algorithm. Take a look at this paper:

A. Onorati. M. Perotti, S. Rebay, Modelling 1-D Unsteady Flows in Ducts: Symmetric Finite Difference Schemes vs. Galerkin Discontinuous Finite Element Methods, International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, Vol. 39, no. 11, pp. 1213-1236, 1997.

Obviously, if you want to make things fast and roughly you may try simple smoothing:

u_new[i]=u[i]*(1-2*nu)+nu*(u[i+1]+u[i-1])

Thank you So much Alexander

I will try them and let you know what I got.

Cheers.
