sir i have made a program using finte diffrence implicit method for one dimesional problem. as time step increases the values are also changing. how to check stability for the implicit method so that for all time steps value remain same. thanking you s.baskar

Hi, Usually one must talk about method stability exactly only for very simple equations with very simple BC. There are several theoretical ways to reveal unstability. I can remind one of them but probably you just need to check the stability of your method numerically. Change the grid and time steps and see what happens. Your results for different grids should coincide.
I read you again and didn't quite understand the following: ...stability for the implicit method so that for all time steps value remain same... What value do you mean? Didn't you mix up stability and stabilization? Your problem is still very vague for me. |
