I really don't know why my questions are not really answered on this forum? I posted 3 questions regarding Finite Volume Method but no one cares to answer those doubts?

I ignored it personally because it was a homework.
Also because someone else (probably one of your classmates) posted an identical query a few days ago also. What is remarkable is that you both copy-pasted the entire assignment so much so that it looked like plagiarism. You didn't ask a question. You posted an assignment. Just do it is all I have to say. Follow the instructions. I've got nothing to add. |

Yes it is a homework and i am not asking for solution. I had a doubt and i just wanted to clear it. I have done the solution on my own.

Do you mean these 4 threads with the exact same content?
2D diffusion equation using Finite volume method 2D diffusion equation using FVM 2D diffusion equation using Finite volume method 2D diffusion equation using FVM That also happen to have the exact same wording as this one, where you have been given lots of pointers how to check your solution? In which you never gave any feedback? Please please answer my query - Convection diffusion equation Looks to me like you forgot to read this before posting: Guide: How to ask a question on the forums |

I see this trend of students posting HW on forums is increasing over time. We should not encourage this, but I dont know how to control it also. Sometimes it can be difficult to distinguish. I feel we should not even offer suggestions/hints in these cases.

I personally see nothing wrong with discussing questions that arise from homework. As long as you tried to do it yourself first. This particular topic was off to a good start: with a bit of push, OP showed that he tried to do it himself, and then got stuck with one aspect of it. In my book, you earned the privilege of asking strangers on the internet at this point. But of course, the guidelines for asking questions should still be followed.

The key is if CFD students could be hosted in a dedicated section of the forum.
Of course the way to manage the acceptance of a question should be properly addressed. |

Here is my method : Read book and see videos to get some understanding -> Download someone else's code by googling things like "2D FVM Heat equation solver" -> Run it -> Try changing the variables to see how it behaves and misbehaves (this will teach you the most) -> Read the code and see how it is structured (just read the comments) -> Try to copy the code to your preferred programming lanuguage and try to make it work (you'll get quite a bit of experience on how to write your own solver next) -> Write your own solver. |
