How to fit datum to a smooth curve?

Default How to fit datum to a smooth curve?

Basically which mothod do you use? For example fit 20 point to a smooth curve, the trend of the curve is consistantly encrease or decrease. I have tried GAUSS iteration but get poor results. The total trend is good but the domain between 2 sample points is quite bad, sometimes increase sometimes decrease.
