Can we obtain PHASE from the solution of an d.e. ?

Hello guys!

My question is a common one.

Imagine we are solving an differential equation, for example a Helmholz equation with an eigenvalues problem. We obtain some eigenvalues and some eigenfunctions.

What can we state about their PHASES?

Can we obtain the phase difference between them and see something about "interference" between this functions?

Or the phase of the eigenfunction of one eigenvalue is not connected with the phase of another one?
