suggest me an idea to solve the problem

i am working on a geometry ,where in in a hollow square enclosure there is a solid square heat generation source at the centre. i am working on staggered grid ,incompressible 2D flow,FVM and using SIMPLE algorithm . i have to apply both the temperature and velocity boundary conditions on the square heat generation source.problem is should the control volume faces fall on the heat generation surface or the grid points on it and if so how to apply the boundary conditions for the scalar and vector variables .

hoping enthusiastic replies from the forum

Re: suggest me an idea to solve the problem

i think it is easier to locate the faces of the pressure volumes on the heat generation surface for your problem. if the known conditions of your problem is the distribution of heat sourse in the solid square, no boudary conditions should be supplied on the generation surface, because the solid square is part of the domain for you to compute on. the solid and the fluid could be distinguished by their property.the viscosity of the solid can be set to a great value. But if the known condition of your problem is the fixed temperature or heat flux on the generation surface , a boudary condition could be supplied without difficulty, and the solid is no longer in the computation domain .
