Propane is burning on a surface of 0.61m*1.21m in a room of 3*5*5. I want to find out which is the heat release rate for this fire. If i know the burning rate i can define this as a mass flow rate at the inlet

Re: propane burning rate

Alcanes have a heating value between 45-50 e6 J/kg.

The burning rate depends on the configuration: in a diffusion flame, it is a function of the strain, in a premixed flame, it varies with the equivalence ratio and stretch.
