Gambit data file

Could any one pls let me know how can I convert my vertices file in excel to vertices.dat file so that gambit can read the file. Thanks in advance

All you have to do is to copy the vertices in a file with three columns: x-coord., y-coord., and z-coord., and seperated by tab or space. You must have one row of these columns for each vertex. If you have a 2-D geometry, enter a zero for the z-coord. of all vertices. Good Luck

hi for example if you need to half a file for airfoil 1-generate the poits describe its surface 2-be sure to have a zero thickness trailing edge 3-write a third column for zero z coordinate 4-copy all and open note pad file and paste in the first line write down the number of vertices and followed by 2 which is the number of edges 5-save 6-in gambit file-->import-->ICEM input-->select vertices and edge 7-for importing only vertices file import vertex data and writing the first line in step 4 is not required for any help omrkhairy75@yahoo.com thanks khairy-Egypt
