Dielectrophoresis CFD-ACE+
 

Hi everybody,

I am using the spray+flow+electric modules in CFD-ACE GUI for simulating positive dielectrophoresis. I have the following observations and it would be great if someone could help me out with this.

1. For equal permittivity and conductivity of spray particle and medium there is no movement - WHICH IS CORRECT

2. For permittivity and conductivity of spray particle lower than that of the medium there is movement away from the higher field density region - WHICH IS ALSO CORRECT

3. For permittivity and conductivity of spray particle greater than that of the medium there is SLOW movement away from the higher field density region - WHICH IS NOT supposed to happen.

This basically means that there is only different extents of negative dielectrophoresis and no positive.

If anyone could suggest any solutions it would be of great help. Also if you need any more information let me know.
