Using pressure based solver for compressible flows
Hello all....
i am running a case where in coming mach number is 0.4, which falls in the compressible regime (M>0.3). according to fluent user guide, pressure based solver is preffereable for incompressible flows and density based solver is preferable for compressible flows. IS it possible for me to use pressure based solver for mach 0.4 ? i will of course switch ON energy equation for it. or is it a compulsion on me to use density based solver because of compressible regime ? |
Using pressure based solver for compressible flows
hi aamer....
you can solve using both approaches ie pressure and density based for compressible flows... Regards Naveen |
solving Comp flows
hello,
try this p or rho based solver test on simple shock tube problem - wont take much time and after that you can be sure what to use. for example, you want to capture accelerating fronts well - check the problem to see if p or rho solved it better. You can run either model - but question of what needs to be predicted is more important and only you can answer that. good luck CFDtoy Quote:
