Hi,

I am trying to solve flow past an airfoil at Re~ 10,000.

I am assuming laminar flow at the moment. What type of schemes should I choose? Like upwind, central, QUICK scheme etc?

Is there a preferred scheme?

Thanks!

Hi
May be this help you:

Read the FLuent modelling part of the tutorial....
I think the default parameters going true for your case..

Hi Morteza, thanks for the suggestion!

However, after reading thru the fluent part, it seems to only mention that it's using the PRESTO scheme. Nothing else much.

Did I miss out something?

Under Discretization, set Pressure to PRESTO, pressure velocity couling to SIMPLE and Momentum to Second-Order Upwind

Thanks akj! However, I am writing my numerical solver and I need to solve for relatively high Re (~10000) flow past an airfoil.

I wonder if anyone has experience and what type of schemes are more suitable for flow at this Re.
