minger Member Join Date: Apr 2009 Posts: 36 Rep Power: 17	Hopefully a quick question: I am writing some scripts to back out some nice y+/u+ plots. I think I have a pretty good understanding of what y+ is, why it's important, so on and so forth. My question is how I should handle the units on the friction velocity term. I realize that the y+ term should be analagous to Reynolds number (length * velocity / viscosity). However, the common treatment of the friction velocity is: $u* = \sqrt{ \frac{\tau_w}{\rho} }$ edit: Just realized that I'm simply missing a g_c. Last edited by minger; July 7, 2011 at 11:23.
