Dear all,

Sorry for my basic question.

I'm working in a wind turbine project and would like to optimize an airfoil of vertical axis wind turbine.
As a start, I've heard the NACA 6 series were good initial profile.
Thus, I modeled the profile of NACA 64(2)-A015 but some questions arose.

Q1) Is there some function describing thickness distribution (y) along chord line(x) like yU=fU(x) and yL=fL(x) (upper and lower lines) for 6-digit series as exists for NACA 4 and 5 digit series ?

Q2)Meanings of "64(2)-A015"
As stated in Wikipedia,
  1. The number "6" indicating the 6 series.
  2. "4" digit describing the distance of the minimum pressure area in tens of percent of chord, i.e., 40% of chord.
  3. The subscript "(2)" digit gives the range of lift coefficient in tenths above and below the design lift coefficient in which favorable pressure gradients exist on both surfaces
  4. A hyphen.
  5. "A" ????
  6. One digit "0" describing the design lift coefficient in tenths.
  7. Two digits "15" describing the maximum thickness in tens of percent of chord, i.e., 15% of chord
Then, what the "A" digit means ?
