Hello.

I am a fresher for CFD.

Can I ask a silly queastion here. Why do we need a linear solver in Finite Volume methods. I am bit confused. Could any one can give me a quick flow chart for finite volume methods?

Thanks very much!

Cheers

Navier stoke equation is nonlinear pde. But we used to linearize it for the ease of solving it(especially large scale problems)

hi dear.....i think we discrete pde(partial diffrential equation) in finite volume method to have an easy work to solve them and in finite volume method we exchange PDE's to discreted places to solve them easier

A non-linear equation does not converge easily in an iterative scheme used to solve the governing equations in CFD. As the coefficients depends now on the solution.

Thanks very much for your reply. Could you recommend me a book which introduce this entire Finite volume process, includes construct flux, convective, diffuse flux, time step, construction gradient, linearization? Thanks very much.
