How about allowing posting of html messages instead of text messages in the forum ? . If anyone wants to post an equation he can convert it to html and post it .

HTML is allowed here. However, browser support for math HTML is not that good. I think that currently the best way to support equation writing is to have a latex engine in the backround to render equations as images, like for example mediawiki has. I'm not aware of any discussion forums that uses this technique though. Anyone?

How about adding the application of CFD to different fields of science as a separate page.

Hi Jonas,

I like the new layout, but still like to see some kind of maillist interaction. It is just so much better to handle the forums with a mua than with the web interface! The OpenFoam forum has the ability to receive every message as an email, the response is still done by the web-interface, but keeping track of discussion is a lot easier and faster. Maybe that would be a first step!?

Regards! Fabian

Hi Jonas,

This looks like an excellent replacement. I really like compact webpages without too much clutter. It works fine and fast in Mozilla which is important to me too.

Unfortunately I think the problems (if any) will only crop up when the site is up and running with extensive usage.

So when can we expect it to go live???

Thanks for your feedback. I'm glad that you like it.

We're working hard on fine-tuning the layout of the other sections now. I hope we'll be able to go live within a few weeks.

I try to verify compatibility with Mozilla, Firefox, IE5 and IE6. We are now taking the step to drop full compatibility with Netscape 4 - it is not until the last year that CFD surfers have abandoned NS4 in enough numbers to warrant this. Hence, those very few people (about 1% of our visitors) who still use NS4 will have to upgrade their browsers to get a good layout.
