Difference between recirculation zone and turbulent flow region -- CFD Online Discussion Forums

ashtonJ Senior Member Ashkan Javadzadegan Join Date: Sep 2010 Posts: 255 Rep Power: 16	Hi all I’ve been confused with difference between recirculation zone and turbulent flow region. I’ve simulated blood flow inside some coronary arteries (arteries with very small diameter 4mm) and some recirculation zones were observed at locations of stenosis. Can I say that my flow is turbulent because I have a recirculated flow? What is the difference between recirculated flow and turbulent flow? Are they related to each other? Thank you AshtonJ
