currently I am working on finite element method (FEM) Shallow water equations (SWE) modeling of 2D dam break phenomenon
I have almost finished all the work like discretizing the equations, implementing the boundary conditions, coding it in MATLAB
but the shock the is not being captured by the code
unfortunately there just 2 useful papers that I could find
professor Fang's and professor Pastor's articles

any experiences/comments/atricles?
