Hi,
I need to calculate the Peclet no. to determine if an upwind scheme is better for my problem. The Peclet no. is defined as LU/D L = characteristic length, U = velocity, D the mass diffusion coefficient. I am simulating a flow past an airfoil in air. Is U the inflow velocity? L = airfoil length. What about the mass diffusion coefficient? I only managed to get from wiki: "Carbon dioxide in air has a diffusion coefficient of 16 mm2/s" Hope someone can help. Thanks! |
