Is the source term in the energy equation (term due to the heat release after combustion) the same when you consider the energy equation in its standard form (total energy) and when you consider the internal energy equation? The source term in the standard form of the energy equation is: Q_SOURCE = SUM_r{Q_COMBUSTION(r)*REACTION_RATE(r)}, r=1, no. reactions.
