Hi, I'm trying to simulate the 2D incompressible tubulent flow arrond airfoil with k-epsilon model utilising the simple sheme. Is it preferabley to descritise the equations in generalised coordinates or in caritisien coordinates for an irrugular mesh? thanks for all in advance

I think the best way is to use immersed approach since usage of curvilinear staggered grid is very tangled issue especially in 3D.

Look the article.

T.Ye, R.Mittal, H.S.Udaykumar, and W.Shyy, An Accurate Cartesian Grid Method for Viscous Incompressible Flows with Complex Immersed Boundaries// J. of Computational Physics, v. 156, pp. 209-240, 1999.

Alexey.

dear sir, sure using generalised coordinates, try to read the foolowing text book:"Computational methods for fluid dynamics",by Ferziger and Peric,SPRINGER where u can downolad from ftp server, free codes to solve this problem using Finite Volume. have a good Luck Khairy-Egypt
