Dear Friends,

Can anyone of you give me a brief explanation about interfacial velocity in multiphase flows.

Intefacial velocity is the velocity of the front across which the phases are different. This velocity comes into play due to two reasons, firstly due to mass transfer from one phase to other and secondly due to the advection by underlying flow. Its like tracking a boundary.
