Cyclone modeling

hi.. I am doing cyclone modelling for my research but i have difficulties setting the boundary condition for the pressure outlets since I have to guess the pressure drop.. could anyone please give me a hint about this... thank you

Re: Cyclone modeling

May be you could further define your setup.. However i would assume a few things... Prefferably a combination of velocity -pressure boundary conditon can be opted. You may specify inlet with velocity conditions and outlet with static pressure conditions

Trust I have addressed your query.

Regards, Vijay

Re: Cyclone modeling

Nina, I have no idea about the pressure drop in cyclone seperators. However, I will not let the prevent me from providing an answer. Go to http://www.qnet-cfd.net/newsletter/8th. This is a newsletter on best practice work. Page 24 starts the best practice for Chemical, process and nuclear work. There is a short section (5) on Cyclone seperators. Tom

fluent 6.2 cyclone multiphase model

I recently installed fluent 6.2 and tried to model my cyclone. But I am not sure which RSM multiphase model to use. Should I use eulerian or mixture model..anyone can help..?? thank you
