I have a doubt regarding the pressure work in the energy equation. The rate of work done on fluid per unit volume = del.(Pv)
Expanding this term => P*(del.v) + v.del(P) First term ( P*(del.v) ) = Reversible work due to compression/expansion. So what does the second term (v.del(P)) represent physically. thanks. |

That represents flow work, eg. in turbines
