hey all
I need your help
why when we talk about CFD we mention c++ or fortran
can we write these profissional codes and make simulation software using high level languages as vb , java , c# .....

yes, of course you can write codes in any language you like, or a mix of them, it's even a good idea to do basic research in Matlab.

But when it comes to writing competitive codes, you will need the speed of a lower-level language like fortran or c. I haven't worked with c++, but I figure that it might be slower than c for pure number crunching.
