Litarture for SOR Method

a Can anybody help me finding literature for SOR implicit method in CFD. I am very new in this area. If somebody gives a brief introduction about this method, it will be much better.

Thank you

Re: Litarture for SOR Method

The SOR method should be a standard compliment to most numerical methods text book. If you wnat a reference which is most relevant to CFD, may I suggest Ferziger and Peric, "Computational Methods for Fluid Dynamics." It is published by Springer. There is a very detailed chapter on the SOR method, wich accompanying source code (in FORTRAN.)

Cheers, Ed.

Re: Litarture for SOR Method

hi,

Take a look at S.V.Patankar's book and also at Computational Fluid Mech and Heat Transfer by Anderson , Tanehill and Pletcher (1996 ed.) They have explained lot of schemes for different problems with point SOR and Line SOR. bye
