modeling of free boundary in Fluent Software

Hi I am a student in university of british columbia . I want to know how I can model free surface in Fluent . For example one of the problems I counter at modeling the free surface is the two dimensional motion of a ship in water . Please let me know how I can do that . Thanks Mahmoud

Your problem is similar to that of "unconfined flow past bluff bodies", In your case, the bluff body is nothing but ship. First, try to simulate a simple problem like flow past circular cylinder/square cylinder/rectangular cylinder. You can get bulk of literature on these problems. After validating your procedure for any of them, you can move on to your original problem.
