Default Hints for Job Interview with Fluent?

I have got a job interview with Fluent on Friday this week and would love any hints and tips about the format and/or bits that I should revise. The job is CFD Engineer and I have to do a 15 min presentation followed by 2 hours of questions including technical questions.

My background is: BSc in physics, MSc in CFD and just finished PhD in a CFD related field. Obviously I'm going to do the presentation on a subject related to my PhD but if anyone who has experience of Fluent interviews and could fill me in on likely questions on the technical side I'd love to hear your stories.

I'd guess I should brush up on the meanings of the terms in the Navier-Stokes equations etc. but any further ideas from current Fluent staff or anyone else who's experienced the Fluent hiring process would be great.

Thanks!

I do not Fluent specifically, but I would venture a little self-marketing advice, form an ex Technical Executive.

Remember, they are employing you not only for your current ability, but also for your FUTURE POTENTIAL.

By all means present your current abilities, & work, but also couch them in a general framework of vision for future products, applications, extensions of Fluent current product range. Think through some ideas about potential timeframes to implement your vision, manpower requirements etc.

I hope that you are successful.

Seeing as most people at the codes read these forums I imagine that the person taking your interview will probably know now that you are looking for tips. Whether this is a good thing or not who knows......

Cheers for the replies guys.

I can't see how asking for some tips on the interview can be viewed as a bad thing. I would have thought it shows I'm interested and exploring various ways to increase my chances. I doubt anyone is going to come up with an exact list of questions whose answers I can revise and regurgitate parrot-fashion!

Just a few tips on how technical the questions are likely to be is all I was after. Anything that'll settle my nerves a little!!

No I guess not, all I can say is that if you are going for a job that is customer facing (i.e. support, sales consulting etc) then they will be looking for a good personality as well as good technical skills. They will tend to be looking for a good engineering knowledge as well, the customer is using the code to get good results in a short(ish) turnaround so they dont want everything to the nth degree of acurracy.

This is worth remembering as a developer or an academic will often loose sight of this, CFD is after all a tool. And a lot of people get hung up on things that in the real world matter little.

If you are going into development on the other hand, forget all i said, personality is not an required quality
