Abhijit Tilak Guest Posts: n/a	hi, SOR stands for Successsive Over Relaxation. the value of variable is relaxed ie the amount decided by the parameter called relaxation parameter. for ex u(new)=u(new)w+(1-w)u(old). The optimum value of w for linear problems is 1.6 for non-linear problems the value of w is usually less than 1, about 0.6 -0.8 to prevent divergence because of non -linearities. bye
