Thanks for Renato N. Elias. Now the image size problem is solved. I found I cannot output the whole flow field(3D) timely, while the 2D flow field had no problem. If I want to output the flow field, the code died. Is this related to the memory size of the machine? Thanks a lot.

Do you mean your're having problems writing huge output files with the velocity results? If yes, I think it's not related with the amount of memory spent.

Yes, I do have some problems with i/o of velocities which are really huge. Actually I have use the i/o in relatively small problem without any problems. So what kind of problem is it likely? Thanks a lot.

Hi,

Your version of windows may not be able to handle file bigger than a certain size.

1) Upgrade/change your OS 2) Try to reduce this file size (by writing the file with the unformated option, or by writing data for a node over two), or reduce your mesh size, or do not output 3D data.

Up to you ...

Buche

The situation is quite puzzling. When the arrays get large(I have to do that), the code is running, but cannot do any output, even a single number.

Try to write your huge file in unformatted (or binary if your Fortran compiler supports this) as Bunch has suggested.

I've put some Fortran routines to write Ensight files in: (http://www.nacad.ufrj.br/~rnelias/paraview), I think it may be useful for you if you are not used to writing binary files in Fortran.

p.s.: 32-bits systems have limitations with file sizes and memory addresing...
