Default Calculating the 1st step of a semi-implicit scheme

Hello,

I've seen many schemes which uses a semi-implicit (CN2+AB2) to solve the momentum eqn.

However, they didn't specify how to get results of the 1st time step. what is the common practice?

To use fully explicit method? or fully implicit method? or is there any other ways?

Thanks alot!
