Hi,

I saw somewhere that cubit is going to release as open source soon. I am wondering if anyone can confirm this and post more details.

Yes, it was announced at the International Meshing Roundtable (IMR) conference in San Jose the week before last. An exact date wasn't given but on the order of a couple of months.

Thanks! If released by Dec. 25, it will be a nice Christmas gift!

The open sourcing of CUBIT was announced at the 21st IMR but at this year's 22nd IMR I heard that things did not go as per the initial plan. I'm supposed to talk to someone later this month with direct knowledge of the matter and I'll try to share what I learn.

Dudes, I realize I was the one who started this tale based on statements by someone from Sandia at the Int'l Meshing Roundtable 2 years ago, but gimme time. As soon as I hear something factual from someone knowledgeable I will share the info.

No, I have no news to report on this topic.

(I would've replied simply "No" but apparently the forum software doesn't like messages shorter than 10 characters.)
