Hi,

I am looking for an older Cubit release. My colleague said that Cubit used to be a free software but it isn't anymore so I would be grateful if anybody has some older version which is still free licensed

Furthermore I am looking for some open source or license free mesh generator with graphical interface which is suitable for meshing porous media. The objective is to make a 3D mesh with around 10 million nodes

tnx

Hi Filip:

To the best of my knowledge, Cubit has never been free. It has been developed by the U.S. Dept. of Energy and distribution has been very limited. However, I heard a rumor that there was going to be an open source version of Cubit but there has been no follow-through on that yet as far as I know.

For open-source or license-free meshing software you should probably start looking at the tools used with OpenFOAM.

Best Regards

Thank you John,

It seems that I had a wrong information about Cubit previous license

Nevertheless a colleague told me that there is a mesh generator called GMSH which could be useful for my purpose

Unfortunately mesh generator provided with OpenFOAM is not suitable for my case

Regards
