Meshing sharp corners - mesh for a MVG

Hello everyone!

I am trying to generate a mesh of a MVG like this one: http://www.hindawi.com/journals/mse/2011/934982/

I have tried using Gmsh, but the quality of the mesh on the sides near the sharp angle is always very bad. The good thing about Gmsh is that I could easily prescribe cyclic boundaries.

I also tried using Salome but I got stuck since I couldn't figure out how to create cyclic boundaries.

I can upload my .geo with the MVG if you'd like. As far as I can tell, the problem is that any cell placed at the sharp angle will be extremely skewed, and so far I wasn't able to have a single stable simulation running...

Does any one have any tips for this kind of situation?
