NASA LOW SPEED

Hello, friends, who can provide the test case of NASA low speed centrifugal compressor, ?

Hello Fishcuter,

Thanks for your inquiry. The NASA LSCC test case is outlined in the following papers:

Hathaway M. J., Chriss R. M., Wood J. R., Strazisar A. J., 1993, "Experimental and Computational Investigation of the NASA Low-Speed Centrifugal Compressor Flow Field," ASME J. of Turbomachinery, Vol. 115, pp. 527-542

Skoch G. J., Prahst P. S., Wernet M. P., Wood J. R., Strazisar A. J., 1997, "Laser Anemometer Measurements of The Flow Field in a 4:1 Pressure Ratio Centrifugal Impeller," ASME Paper 97-GT-342

McKain T. F., Holbrook G. J., 1982, "Coordinates for a High Performance 4:1 Pressure Ratio Centrifugal Compressor," NASA Contract NAS 3-23268

There are actually several papers on this study. The three listed should give you what you need.

Best regards, Allan

thank you, Allan, I have looked those first two papers, but failed to find corresponding blade coordinates ( detailed geometry data).Anyway, I appreciate your advice.

Hi Fishcuter,

did you manage to find the coordinates for this or any other Validation model for a centrifugal compressor ?

I am looking to calibrate CFX Tascflow for overall stage perfromance results only, not internal flow detail

perhaps there is another model I could use ?

many thanks

Hi, Keith:

I suggest Krain models ever published for calibration.
