Hi, After having successful
 
Hi,

After having successfully compiled OpenFOAM-1.4.1 on a Gentoo box, I am trying to get started by going through the first tutorial `lid driven cavity'.

In section 2.1.2 it is suggested to have a look at the mesh, running paraFoam. Unfortunately paraFoam crashes (see below).

What now? Help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Alexander

Please search the forum under the section installation or with your error message and you will find a large number of posts discussing why this happens and what you can do to solve the problem.

Search for Håkan Nilsson's phd course on google. He has somt tips on how to successfully install paraFoam/paraview

When I start paraFoam and hit
 
When I start paraFoam and hit the accept button to load the mesh for cavity.foam, I get the following error. Any suggestions / advice how to fix tis would be appreciated.

I solved the problem (for always I hope) by reloading the tutorials. It appears to works now.
