FoamDebugSwitches link error -- CFD Online Discussion Forums

I'm using gcc4.1.2(Gentoo) and binutils of my system, not provided from OF site. Then, I have found that one needs to add "-lpdf" to the file "applications/utilities/miscellaneous/foamDe bugSwitches/Make/option" Without this, the compiler cannot link libpdf to "foamDebugSwitches" and claims that `Foam::pdf::New(Foam::dictionary const&, Foam::Random&)' is not found.
