HashTable Binary write format
Not sure if this is a bug, but nevertheless...
It appears that HashTable contents cannot be written in binary format to disk (but ascii with either compressed/uncompressed works just fine). Is this a limitation of the binary format (due to coding complications, etc)? Or has it just not been implemented yet? With the write-option in controlDict set to binary, the HashTable header specifies "binary", but the contents are still in ASCII form. This becomes problematic during the re-read from disk. I'm using 1.5-dev, by the way... |
I have tested binary IO of HashTable in OpenFOAM-1.6.x and it works fine. Are you able to reproduce the problem in OpenFOAM-1.6.x? If so could you send a code example which reproduces the problem?
