Dear OpenCFD®-Team,

I noted that the new release coincides with a "new" bug reporting system based on Mantis BT on your website (http://www.openfoam.com/support/bug-reporting.php).

Is the OpenFOAM Bug section within this forum obsolete?

best regards,

Yes, please report any OpenFOAM bugs on Mantis. It makes it much easier for all of us to see what is outstanding and what is fixed etc.

Thanks,

Mattijs

Thanks Mattijs.

What do you think about a categorisation, i.e. in OpenFOAM® core, models, solvers, Ubuntu/Debian packages, etc.? (similar to http://sourceforge.net/apps/mantisbt.../main_page.php via (sub-)projects)

I think this would also be very helpful in order to get in a reasonable and comprehensible structure once your bug section gets populated... which likely will happen with quite diverse bug reports on different topics.

best regards,

Greetings to all!

I propose that a sticky thread is put at the top of the "OpenFOAM Bugs" Forum, with the links for Mantis for both the official OpenFOAM project and the -dev/-extend project(s) (it's the one in the previous post ), because this forum has been used in the past for both!

And perhaps closing accessibility to posting new threads in this part of the forum in a month or two, in case it proves to be no longer necessary...

Best regards,
Bruno

I like the idea of a proper bugzilla

Two seem a bit too much, but I guess it is not avoidable given the split in the project. However, the one on sourceforge does not open for me.

Best,

Hi Alberto,

ok. Spell it, even if it's hard: M-A-N-T-I-S

What do you mean by "does not open"? ... You need a sourceforge account. But that should do the entire job...

best regards,

Hehe, sorry! My personal preference played its role in making this mistake, but I'll try to call it with its name

I could not see the page at all (server not responding). It seems to work fine now. Thanks :-)

Best,
Alberto
