I have installed openFoam extend so that i can perform FSI simulations

there are some bugs during the installation of paraview

can i get some help from you in this regard

Errors are
when i am trying to open the paraview using the command paraFoam - paraview is opening but it is saying that - A reader for "/home/srinivas/foam/srinivas-3.1/run/cavity/cavity.OpenFOAM" could not be found. Please choose one ... and it is giving all the file formats

Tried to fix this by istalling paraview again
but didnt work

Greetings Srinivasa Rao,

A few questions:
  1. Which Linux Distribution are you using?
  2. Which installation instructions did you follow?
  3. While following the installation instructions, how did you configure the environment variables and with what values?
Best regards,
Bruno

Replies for what you have asked
1. Linux OS - ubuntu 15.04
2. Installation process is taken from "http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Installation/Linux/foam-extend-3.1"
3. I just have followed the instructions... as i am not a regular user of Linux .. am not sure how to alter environment variables.

Request you to guide me
i wish to say that i have previously installed openFoam 2.4 and its is working fine

Hi Srinivasa Rao,

Sorry for the really late reply, but only today did I finally manage to look into this a bit more. Also because I had lost track of this thread on my to-do list

The simplest solution is to install Ubuntu's ParaView version:
Code:
sudo apt-get install paraview
Then run this command:
Code:
sed -i -e 's=\.OpenFOAM=.foam=' $WM_PROJECT_DIR/bin/paraFoam
Best regards,
Bruno
alia and lxwd like this.
