[Virtualization] OpenFOAM oriented tutorial on using VMware Player - support thread
Greetings to all!
After a request by a colleague of ours here on the forum, I've taken up the task of writing a tutorial on how to install and use VMware Player for OpenFOAM development and testing. The tutorial takes into account the possible usage of VMplayer on the major desktop Operating Systems: Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. Although all images shown in the tutorial used are taken on Ubuntu and Xubuntu... This thread is therefore a support thread for the tutorial itself: HowTo Install Virtual Machines with VMware Player Keep in mind that this tutorial is about using VMplayer, not about installing OpenFOAM, even though instructions given are oriented to having a properly working test environment for OpenFOAM! If you want to use VirtualBox, there is at least this tutorial: http://www.openfoam.com/resources/windows.php - and it looks like it was also performed in Ubuntu :D Intended audience for this tutorial:

But the closest proof-of-concept of me "being more than one" is that my zodiac sign is "Gemini" :D  And believe me, my brain keeps brewing in the back burner several more ideas about documenting this and that about OpenFOAM... but time keeps slipping away... That said, time is the guilty one for me not being at the workshop. :p Nonetheless, my name was in one of the presentations : CastNet and blueCFD: A GUI controlled Windows environment based on OpenFOAMŪ technology Best regards, Bruno PS: I've gotten your contact card from my colleague Nelson when he came back from the workshop and hopefully I'll be sending you an email in a week or so ;) |
