problem with compiling the source code

Hello,
I have installed OpenFOAM in Ubuntu following the instruction. For the moment, I can use it but I cannot compile the source code. Every time I open a terminal, it reads
" gcc: error： unrecognized option ‘--showme:link’ "
Anyone who knows how to deal with this problem?

You're not providing sufficient information to work with. SO I«ll ask a few questions:

What steps did you take to reach that error message?
More specifically, which specific source code are you trying to compile?
Are you trying to modify OpenFOAM's own source code?
1. If so, why haven't you built OpenFOAM from source? The instructions are provided here: http://www.openfoam.org/download/source.php
2. Or are you following these instructions?
