Where's foamX?
I installed openFoam on my system running Ubuntu precise, using the instructions at http://www.openfoam.org/download/ubuntu.php . Everything seems to have installed nicely, but I wanted to try out foamX and it doesn't seem to be anywhere. The guide at http://www.foamcfd.org/Nabla/guides/UserGuidech5.html indicates that is should be installed with openFoam (and I believe everything I read on the Internet, but that's the subject of another thread, I'm sure).
Anyone give me a pointer here? |
as much as i know it does not support any more, if you need GUI with OpenFOAM, you can use descritizer

FoamX has been discontinued at least five years ago... A list of alternative GUI's can be found here: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/GUI
I do recommend though to get familiar with the command line interface. |
Greetings to all!
Oddly enough, we didn't have this question on the FAQ until today. So here it is: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/FA...re_is_FoamX.3F Best regards, Bruno |
Thanks!
Thanks for the information, folks! It's good to have archival information available online, but it's hard to tell sometimes what information is still valid.
