Hi everyone,
Here is my experience on howto install OpenFOAM on mandriva2009(qt4.4) with Qt4.3.5 in home directory.

1. do the steps 1-6 in http://www.opencfd.co.uk/openfoam/doc/README.html except running paraFoam.

2. download libmpfr-dev package and all its related packages

Next steps we need follow Tammo's 1-3:

3. follow Tammo's steps 1-3:
3.a.
Download qt-x11-opensource-src-4.3.5.tar.gz (approx. 40MB)
from
ftp://ftp.trolltech.com/qt/source/qt...c-4.3.5.tar.gz
and unpack it in your /tmp folder. There now should be a folder called /tmp/qt-x11-opensource-src-4.3.5 on your system

3.b.
Go to that folder

cd /tmp/qt-x11-opensource-src-4.3.5

set the path you want to install Qt-4.3.5 in, e.g.

./configure -prefix ~/OpenFOAM/ThirdParty/Qt-4.3.5

you may have to accept the GNU-license. Now compile (takes some time...)

make

and install

make install

3.c.
add the following lines to your ~/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.5/etc/bashrc at the very end

# set QT related variables
QT=~/OpenFOAM/ThirdParty/Qt-4.3.5
export PATH=$QT/bin:$PATH
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$QT/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH

4. Compiling Paraview 3.3:
cd $FOAM_INST_DIR/ThirdParty
rm -rf ParaView3.3-cvs/platforms
buildParaView3.3-cvs

5. Compiling PV3FoamReader module:
cd $FOAM_UTILITIES/postProcessing/graphics/PV3FoamReader
./Allwclean
./Allwmake

It will take several hours I think, but it will work perfect in mandriva2009 and kubuntu8.10 (which i have tried). At the end I will thank Tammo's help in his http://www.cfd-online.com/OpenFOAM_D...tml?1226776366
