Can someone explain to me how to do this , I am unsure of how to proceed.

Kind Regards Stephen

To use the JAVA supplied with the system, you need to set the $JAVA_HOME environment variable to the path of the installation, e.g. '/usr'. This is set in the $HOME/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1/.bashrc (or .cshrc) file.

There may be a bit of a gotcha in there somewhere, because if you tell it the system's Java is somewhere that places the system's C++ compiler on the path before the C++ compiler installed under $HOME/OpenFOAM/linux, you can run into trouble.

From memory, it can be overcome with a simple edit of one of the OpenFOAM shell initialisation scripts. Sorry, but I can't remember which one.

Probably safer to use the Java and C++ downloadable from openfoam.co.uk if you can't get it to work.

Regards, Graeme.
