Hi all.
I setup both OpenFOAM 1.4.1 and subsequently OpenFOAM 1.4 I did that because I am working on a RHEL4 x86_64 and OpenFOAM 1.4.1 complains that the missing lib is libssl.so.0.9.8 and I can only manage to find a version 0.9.7a; so I decided, after fiddling quite a bit, to opt for the 1.4 sure that the 0.9.7a would have done. Well, I read all forums and made symbolic links for 0.9.7a to 0.9.7 in /lib AND /usr/lib but FoamX STILL won't start. :-( Error is the same: nsd: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.0.9.7: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory. Anybody has any idea on what I can do ? Thanks a lot VDB |

You're working with WM_64 (== 64bit OpenFOAM)? Try lib64 instead of lib

Hi !
Thank you for the hint but unfortunately that isn't working either. Linked /lib64/libssl.so.0.9.7a to both /lib64/libssl.so.0.9.7 AND /usr/lib64/libssl.so.0.9.7 but none worked. Still get the same error : nsd: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.0.9.7: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory. I was quite confident that the symbolic link was going to work as I've seen a few people having the same problem and solving it that way........... :-((( Any more ideas ? Thank you VDB |

Hi:
friends! i resolve it.this is what i do: 1, make the soft link into the directory /usr/lib and /usr/lib64 respectively for libssl.so.0.9.8 2, make soft line into the drectory /usr/lib and /urs/lib64 respectively for libcry ibcrypto.so.0.9.8 3 make soft line for libelf.so.0 then enjoy! I am very happy to see so many peoples used the the same OS with me , it is so interesting |

Hi !
Well well, using a bit of a hint from one and another bit from somebody else, I managed to make it work ! I ended up spreading symbolic links all over the place ( ;-))) ) but in the end it worked. Thank you all for the support ! VDB |
