Hello,

I have written a new Howto section on the OpenFOAM Wiki : Compiling OpenFOAM under Unix

This Howto is based on my compilation notes and experience in recompiling OpenFOAM 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 under SuSE 9.1 x86_64, RedHat WS 4, Centos/Redhat 4, Knoppix/Debian 4.2 and Knoppix/Debian 5.0.

This Howto takes you step by step into the whole recompilation and installation process for OpenFOAM 1.3, and its complementary software components like gcc, cmake, paraview, binutils, etc.

Of course, the information provided in this Howto may not be sufficient for some specific Operating Systems or platform like Cygwin; you are more than welcome to complement the text with the missing information if you feel this would help the OpenFOAM community.

I still consider this Howto as a work in progress; feel free to contribute to the text by incorporating your own war stories, gotchas or any usefull information I might have omitted.
