Hello again.

After I finally managed to build the ParaView I am somehow disappointed of how ParaView looks.

For example I can barely see the checkboxes for Region Status or Vol Field Status. Have a look at the attaches image.

Have you tried to adjust your gamma correction? You can do that either on your screen or your desktop managers display properties.

I don't think this has something to do with the gamma correction.

If you have a close look at the comparison of two ParaView windows you will notice that one is looking really crappy.
Unfortunately this one is from my computer.
The other one is from a ssh connection to a university computer, but still out of my operating system.

Any ideas? Maybe I have to set up my display driver correctly an re-compile?
I have not done the appropriate setting in /etc/X11/xorg.conf to match my NVidia grapics card so far since setting up the system...

Ah yes, I was focusing too much on the checkboxes. Unfortunately I don't have any other idea than to play with your display properties. Maybe try turning off any visual effects.

Obviously this was due to an incorrect graphics driver.

After I installed the correct NVidia driver for my system and recompiled Paraview I had a nice and smooth appearance!

Hello Sega,

what system and driver you are running? Have the same problem here with Ubuntu 9.04 und the Nvidia Drivers 180.44.

First time I compiled Paraview I had the default video driver from Kubuntu running.

After I managed to get the right driver working with the system and did another compilation of Paraview I got the right appearance.

I suggest you try to compile Paraview a second time!
